1980 ushered in a new era for the Old Gold and Blue, as West Virginia football welcomed Coach Don Nehlen to the program, broke in a new Mountaineer Field, and introduced the “flying” WV logo to its helmets. Designed to resemble the mountains of West Virginia by renowned artist John Boyd Martin, the entire university soon adopted the logo. Products are mocked up on a size S.
